International Research Programmes
Swerea participates in European research collaboration programs through contribution in research agendas and road-maps . We are active within a number of technical platforms and are members in a number of research groups linked to Public Private Partnerships (PPP) and Joint Technology Initiatives.
Through different collaboration projects and networks we can impact the orientation of EU projects within Horizon 2020, in which Swerea coordinates and participates in several projects. International research is an important part in monitoring trends and development and opens up possibilites for our member companies to collaborate with European industry to find solutions to different issues.
Listed below is a selection of current international programmes in which Swerea participate:
Bio Based Industries (BBI)
The BBI is dedicated to realising the European bioeconomy potential, turning biological residues and wastes into greener everyday products through innovative technologies and biorefineries, which are at the heart of the bioeconomy.
Clean Sky is the largest European research programme developing innovative, cutting-edge technology aimed at reducing CO2, gas emissions and noise levels produced by aircraft.
Enterprise Europe Network
The Enterprise Europe Network provides free assistance to small and medium businesses to reach out to the European market.

The inernational co-operative program on effects on materials including historic and cultural monuments (ICP Materials) started in 1987 and is co-ordinated by Swerea KIMAB. It is focused on the effects of different air pollutants on atmospheric corrosion of a diverse range of metallic and non-metallic materials.
