Accelerated Testing of Solder Joints – It Doesn’t Have to be a Waste of Time and Money

Welcome to seminar with Prof. Peter Borgesen 13 November 2018 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The background to the seminar is that it has turned out that “best in test” may often not mean “best in service” for lead-free solder joints. As a result, an increasing number of companies have large costs due to reliability problems despite that the products have passed qualification tests. Therefore, there is a need of better understanding for how to properly define tests but also guidelines as to how to interpret test results. In addition, it has been shown that models for predicting reliability fails to give correct predictions.

Prof Peter Borgesen has more than 25 years of experience in testing and prediction of electronics reliability.

In addition, results from a Swedish national project within this field will be presented.
