Cathodic protection

The rate of corrosion on a metal surface in contact with a liquid depends on electrode potential. The rate of corrosion can be significantly reduced by lowering the electrode potential by using a sacrificial anode made from a more reactive metal, or using an external power supply to change the amount of charge on the metal surface.

We assists with corrosion studies, computation, and theoretical and practical recommendations in the application of cathodic protection of structures including natural-gas pipelines, propane tanks, water supply systems, lead-sheathed telecommunication cables and steel reinforcement in concrete structures.

In Sweden, installation of cathodic protection must be registered with municipal building authorities, Information on registration.
