Energy and the environment

All industrial development has environmental and energy aspects. These are often the strongest driving forces behind change work. It is therefore natural that Swerea MEFOS has been able amass a great deal of expertise and unique experience in this area.

Work is normally run as a project, either directly with a specific customer or in various types of collaborative projects in which several parties try to solve common problems. Investigations are often supplemented with experimental activities in laboratory scale, pilot tests or implementation in operation. Thanks to earlier projects, the necessary conditions are in place to effectively conduct projects:

• Experienced staff who have specialist expertise in the areas of environment and energy and are used to running and leading experimental activities
• Flexible experimental equipment in own premises for simulation of both processes and purification system for limiting emissions
• Own expertise in advanced sampling and measurement
• Access to an industrial infrastructure
• Environmental permits
• Close collaboration with a number of institutes and universities
