International Activities

Participation in research projects is an excellent way to develop your company’s ideas and improve long-term competitive advantage. In Sweden and the EU, several financiers offer opportunities for companies large and small to participate in research projects. Nationally, research is funded mainly by Vinnova, but also by e.g., Tillväxtverket, ProViking, Teknikbrostiftelser and the County Administrative Boards, which sponsor various research programmes. In the EU, research is funded principally via the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), which regularly announces calls for participation.

Within Swerea SICOMP, there are always about twenty long-term research projects under way that involve the participation of Swedish companies. In these projects, knowledge is developed based on the companies’ specific needs, a task that few companies are able to undertake on their own.

Over the years, together with other companies in the Swerea Group, Swerea SICOMP has built up an extensive network of companies and research organizations. This network is a valuable resource for finding relevant research partners to meet all types of challenges.
