Polymeric materials

The Polymer R&D Group at Swerea KIMAB is, with more than 25 years of
experience, a world leader in the discipline corrosion properties of polymeric
materials. The work of the group aims at building-up a corrosion science for
polymeric materials, analogous to that of metals, to create “true” relevant corrosion and permeation resistance data, i.e. data which can be used in corrosion design as to obtain reliable constructions of plastics for the lifetime asked for, or required. The activities include studies on materials, such as PVC, CPVC, PE, PP, PVDF, ECTFE, PTFE, PFA, PEEK, PPS, fibre-reinforced thermoset plastics (FRP), rubbers, etc.
