Eurocorr 2011 - All time high

- The European Corrosion Congress

Europe's annual conference on Corrosion took place in Stockholm in early September 2011. The conference was a major success. As regards the number of delegates, it was an ”all time high” with just over 900 people from 56 countries!

Over four days, a total of around 400 scientific presentations were given within the fields of materials for oil and gas, infrastructure, automotive corrosion, coatings, polymers, nuclear corrosion, and more fields. During the conference, around 200 poster presentations were also given and 55 working meetings held. Apart from these there was a small exhibition with around 20 exhibitors. The topic for this year's conference was "Developing Solutions for the Global Challenge".

Swerea KIMAB played host to the conference. Ingegerd Annergren, Department Manager at Swerea KIMAB, chaired the conference. Swerea KIMAB's employees also made contributions with 11 presentations and 6 posters.

The conference is a joint venture between Dechema, EFC (the European Federation of Corrosion), NACE International and Swerea KIMAB.
