Expertise about materials in contact with drinking water
Swerea KIMAB has a wide expertise regarding materials for drinking water distribution. We have specialist working with all types of relevant materials, with focus for the moment on plastic pipes, brass fittings and faucets and copper pipes.
Our work concerns both prevention of mechanical failure as well as prevention of chemical contamination of the drinking water due to the materials, which are often closely related to corrosion mechanisms. We are also collaborating with the industry to develop and test new materials and products.
Furthermore, Swerea KIMAB has initiated cross-section collaboration within the field of materials in contact with drinking water, which guarantees us to have an up to date knowledge within the field of drinking water distribution systems.
