Process Development

At Swerea IVF, we are working with research and development of manufacturing processes for the engineering industry. We work specifically on supporting businesses in their choice of manufacturing process and subsequent regular follow up, quality control, robustness and optimisation. We offer expertise in productivity, process evaluation, working environment and environmental issues.
We provide our customers with expertise in manufacturing processes which allows them to become as competitive as possible. We do this by combining systematic working methods and experience from our research projects with a sound knowledge of industry conditions. We are aware of the conditions due to all the direct jobs we carry out for industrial companies. We have close professional contacts in the industry and many loyal customers.
In addition to process knowledge, we also have expert knowledge of materials and simulation of manufacturing processes. We often create customer specific solutions that work well in practice as we combine our expertise within the three areas of processing technologies, materials and simulation. The aim of our research is to seek a high and consistent manufacturing quality. The manufacturing process should be easy to operate, monitor and maintain. The resulting production process will be resource-efficient for the working environment, the external environment and overall economy. We always take the comprehensive approach.
Our workshop contains pilot equipment for many of our research areas. We work on a semi-industrial scale for finding the best solutions.
At Swerea IVF we conduct applied research on process development within joining, multi-material design, sheet metal forming, forging, heat treatment and surface treatment.
