Used correctly, simulation and modelling are particularly strong tools for understanding and analysing complex processes and procedures. Furthermore, simulation is an unbeatable tool for improving, problem solving and optimising processes and products.
Within Swerea IVF, we use a variety of tools for modelling and FE simulation. The purpose and the choice of which tools are used varies with the issue in question.
Research work in cooperation projects lasting several years demands detailed knowledge of the conditions and limitations of different software. In cases where the desired functionality is not available in existing software, we are developing our own software or adapting existing software to meet these needs. Examples are the ongoing work on friction modelling and robustness analyses.
There are different options to help companies with analyses and problem solving depending on their needs. For example, we can carry out quick analyses using one-step-solutions, which are very helpful for problems in the area of sheet metal forming where you are looking for a specific answer.
