The Industrial Ceramic Research Association

The Industrial Ceramic Research Association is aimed at companies those manufacture, sell or use ceramics and who want to have a voice in Swerea IVF's ceramics research. By ceramics we also mean raw materials used in the manufacture of ceramics.

The association functions as a programme advisory board for ceramics activities at Swerea IVF. The association conducts research through joint member projects. Member companies decide on the project direction and then order research which is conducted by the ceramics group. Projects are usually planned for a three year period, but we are open to receiving proposals for short-term projects.

 Current projects concern

  • Granulation – Moulding
  •  Manufacture of advanced ceramic components
  •  Environment monitoring

The areas being discussed are

  •  Chemically bonded ceramics
  •  Handling of nano powder
  •  Plastic moulding (in connection to Granulation – Moulding)

The projects are presented at the project/member meetings. At these meetings continued activity in the projects is also planned. In connection with one of the meetings, the Association's Annual General Meeting (AGM)will be held.

The Industrial Ceramic Research Association has about 15 member companies.

The cost of becoming a member of the Industrial Ceramic Research Association varies depending on the size of the company, from SEK 15 000 to SEK 60 000 per share. The amounts are determined annually by the Association's AGM. The entire amount is used to carry out joint research projects. A company can purchase one or more shares.
