An industry association with many advantages
Powder coating is a coating process that is progressing rapidly, largely due to the environmental benefits (no solvents!). SPF's most important task is to increase and spread expertise. This is done through research projects, conferences, study visits, etc.
Most manufactured objects are surface treated or coated in some way. Previously, so-called liquid paints were used almost exclusively but now powder coating is taking over. New technology has made it possible to use powder coating for more applications, and it is now used for everything from outdoor barbecues to cars.
SPF is an industry association for powder coating companies and other companies with an interest in powder coating. Examples of activities are listed below:
- R&D projects. e.g. corrosion protection, new pre-treatments, how to treat laser-cut edges, energy
- Monitoring and providing information on new techniques
- Monitoring and providing information on laws and regulations
- A referral agency
- Conferences and study visits
