Swerea Windmill is the Swerea Group’s venture in the area of wind power, where we develop and offer people in the wind power business our collective skills and resources.

Sweden will expand its wind power

In 2020, 20% of electrical energy will be renewable in the EU. Sweden’s quota will be 50% of all electrical energy. The Swedish Energy Agency has set a planned target of 30TWh, which means that about 6000 new wind power stations will be built at an investment of almost SEK 200 billion. Construction, operation, maintenance and future research demand access to a large number of resources in various fields.

  • Swerea’s joint competence in materials and production technology in the wind power field.

Swerea is a member of Swedish Wind Power Technology Centre (SWPTC) and conducts research together with Luleå University of Technology in the field of wind power in cold climate.
